My Goals for 2020

Hello my angels!

You know what people say at the start of every single year; new year, new me. While I don’t really believe in that, and I don’t love the idea of hardcore resolutions, I do believe in setting goals and organising what I’d like to accomplish in the next year. So this year, I thought, why not put it out in the world, to keep me that much more accountable? Now, I’m not one of those sticklers that feels really down if I give up on a goal. Life happens, y’know? But I still like to set some general objectives for the year, and try my best to get them done! So without further ado, here are my biggest goals for 2020!

Work Life

One thing I’m really looking to do this year is to start a new career. As I’ve mentioned before, I worked as a hairdresser back in America. I realised over the course of 2019 that it wasn’t something I really was enjoying any more, and that it was more of a drain than a fulfilment for me. When I moved over to England, I took it as an opportunity to have a break and really figure out what I want to do with my life. So this year, I’m really looking to start a new career that I actually enjoy. Alongside that, I really want to work on being better at promoting my graphic design business on Redbubble. I’m so bad at remembering, and I want to get better at that!

Buy a House

The biggest goal for Rohan and I this year is buying our first house. We’ve been so focused on dealing with the immigration stuff, the living situation has been on the back-burner. At the moment his parents are very kindly letting us live with them, but we are really looking forward to getting our own space. If you have any advice about that, please let me know in the comments!

Getting Healthier

I know this one is so cliche, but I think it’s always a positive to be mindful of your health and strive to be as healthy as you can be. This year I’m determined to finish the Couch to 5k program (I started it in November, but then hurt myself and had to stop). I’m also looking forward to exploring different types of fitness, and finding some that I really enjoy. Also, being from America, where healthcare is so expensive, I’m looking forward to actually visiting doctors when I need to, and not having to decide whether it’s “bad enough” to warrant that.

Time in the Kitchen

Ever since I moved to England, I’ve been trying my hand more often at cooking and baking. I am finding it really enjoyable, so this year, I want to expand my repertoire and experiment with new recipes. I’ve found a ton of new and exciting dishes to try, so I’m really excited to get in the kitchen and test them out! If you have any interesting or favourite recipes, please share them with me in the comments.

Reading

As many of you know, I absolutely love to read. It just seems like there’s never enough time to get stuck in to a book, but this year I want to make time to do so. This past year I read 19 books, but I want to see if I can get through 25 in the new year. Let me know your favourite reads below, so I can try them out!

Blogging

Last, but certainly not least, I want to work on creating more quality content for this space. It might never be a career and I may never make any money from it, but I genuinely love blogging. This year, I want to put less pressure on myself to get things out, and focus on writing about things that honestly inspire me. Let me know in the comments what kind of content is most interesting to you, and what you’d most like to read about!

I just want to give a great big shout out to everyone who has supported me over the last year, and read my posts. It means the world, and it’s so nice to see that people are enjoying my content.

I hope you all had a lovely holiday season, and a wonderful start to the new year. If you set goals or resolutions for New Years, I’d love to know what you want to accomplish in 2020. Do we have any goals in common? Let me know in the comments below!

As always, thanks for reading & stay golden!

XOXO,
