Seriously, January took a billion years to pass but February seemed like it was gone in a blink of the eye! How does that work?! Anyway, I hope it was a good month for you-filled with love, happiness, and most importantly…chocolate! It’s been a minute since I’ve done a monthly favorites, which is weird because they’re one of my favorite posts to write! So without further ado, here are the things I’ve been obsessing over this past month!
L’Oreal Infalliable Pro Matte Foundation
I know I’ve mentioned this foundation before, and I always go back to it. I picked it back up at the beginning of the month after straying for some time. I love the consistency, the coverage and how it wears throughout the day. It is quite matte, so if you have dry skin or like a more luminous look, then you probably won’t like this. I even like mixing this with some of my more dewy foundations to get a more satin/natural finish. The staying power is really good, it doesn’t move or budge throughout my workday, which is really great. All in all, it’s a staple for me!
Aveda Texture Tonic
I have the kind of hair that won’t do anything the day that I wash it. It’s limp and blah and won’t hold a curl. I love love love Aveda’s Texture Tonic for those days. It’s essentially a salt spray, which adds some grit and hold. It smells amazing and isn’t too sticky. I’m really picky about this type of product, so it takes a lot to impress me. I love that I can use it multiple days in a row without making my hair feel gross. My beach waves are always fab when I use this.
Zoella Snow’ella Body Mist
I got a full size and a mini of this for Christmas and I’m obsessed. The notes are a mix of softened peony, mint and pink pepper. It smells really fresh and slightly minty, which is unlike any other perfumes I own. It’s floral without being too floral, sweet but not sickly-I’m just a really big fan. I use it almost everyday and I take the mini with me everywhere I go. I’m loving it for the transition between winter & spring.
I’m on a journey to long hair and it.is.a.struggle. One that that has noticeably helped has been taking Biotin daily. You can find this anywhere really-Walmart, Target, grocery stores, CVS-even some dollar stores have them. The ones I bought are by NatureMade and they are 2500 mcg. They seem to really be helping my hair grow. Added bonus-my skin and nails have been looking fantastic lately too. Of course, as with any kind of supplement, ask your doctor before adding it to your regimen.
My sweet man ordered me a bracelet from this cute Etsy shop for Valentine’s Day, and I’m loving it. The shop specializes in personalized, handwriting sample jewelry. You can even get drawings engraved onto pieces. It’s such a sweet, thoughtful gift for anyone. I even ordered one for myself, in the handwriting of my late best friend. I just think it’s an amazing thing to do for someone, whether it be your SO, in memory of someone or just to someone you love. It’d be perfect for an anniversary, birthday, or even Mother’s Day!
If you know me, you know I love Primark and literally die inside because there isn’t one close to me. Every time I go to the UK I stock up because they have such cute stuff. Also-it’s ridiculously cheap. I love their themed stuff too-like Harry Potter & Disney. While I was in the UK for the holidays I went to Primark 3 times and got a ton of stuff. My favorite is the T-shirts because they’re super cute and really comfy. If you live somewhere that Primark exists, check it out!
Ok, I am a sucker for a historical drama, and this one produced by the CW is extra dramatic. And I’m here for it. Reign is based off the life of Mary, Queen of Scots, who was a cousin of Elizabeth I, and was ultimately beheaded. The history major in me cringes at the historical inaccuracies, but I can look past it because it’s so addicting. Seriously, all the feels. And the soundtrack is right up my alley. If you like a historical drama that’s more drama than history, look no further.
I’m on a real historical drama kick at the moment, and this is definitely one of the best out there. It’s dark and gritty, with tons of battle scenes. It’s perfect for fans of Game of Thrones and Spartacus. It’s a perfect mix of blood, battle, twisted politics, and relationships to keep anyone interested. And pretty much every person in the cast is drop-dead gorgeous. To be honest-I don’t know if it’s that historically accurate but it’s so good, I kind of don’t care.
I am as unorganized as they come-I’m constantly forgetting to do things I need to do. This year I decided to get my life together, buy a planner and start actually using it. I picked up this cute, simple one at Target, and I’m loving it. I’ve found that by writing things down, I actually remember to do them, and do them much more quickly and efficiently. I carry it with me everywhere and it has definitely made a difference.
New Diet Coke Flavors
True story: I lived off Diet Coke in college. I actually like the flavor just as much as regular Coke, which is weird, I know. I was super excited when I saw that they’d come out with new flavors, and they they weren’t your usual vanilla-cherry boringness. So far I’ve tried the Zesty Blood Orange and Fiesty Cherry flavors, which I enjoy very much. I only wish you could buy individual cans, instead of the whole pack because how am I supposed to know if I like it or not?! If you’ve tried any of the others, let ya girl how how it went!
What have you been loving this past month? Have you tried any of my favorites? Let’s chat about it in the comments below!
As always, thanks for reading & stay golden!
