I mentioned in my last post how much I loved the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation. I also picked up the primer and a highlighter from the collection. Although it’s not nearly a comprehensive review of the collection, I thought I’d share my thoughts on the brand and the products themselves.
Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
I’ve talked about this already so I’ll try not to ramble on. What you need to know is that this foundation is awesome. It has great coverage, which is medium to buildable. The color selection is incredible, so the color matching is fantastic. Some have said that it oxidizes, however I would say that it turns to the color it’s meant to be. That is, when you first apply it goes on a tad light, but then oxidizes to the color it’s supposed to be. The texture is great, and it doesn’t transfer. It’s a soft matte, which means it controls shine without ever looking too dry. It’s lightweight and comfortable to wear. It’s my new favorite, so if you haven’t tried it yet, you should!
Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Instant Retouch Primer
The primer in this collection is stunning. It is more liquidy than I thought it would be, but it actually makes it more comfortable to wear. It fills in pores and makes the skin look smooth without feeling siliconey or slippy. I do feel like it makes my makeup last longer. The only thing I’ll say is that you must moisturize before using both. It might just be my skin, but if I don’t use a good moisturizer then my skin looks a bit tight.
Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo
This highlight duo is no joke. I got the shade Lightning Dust + Fire Crystal and it is really beautiful. The Lightning Dust side is a bit more subtle and gives a nice healthy glow. Fire Crystal is that really bright, beam me to Mars highlight that I looooove. They are both kind of a champagne color. They’re really pigmented and apply easily. Neither is chunky or glittery, and I love the formulation. I highly recommend!
Rihanna knocked it out of the park with Fenty Beauty. I definitely want to try more of the collection, but from what I’ve tried so far, I absolutely love it. The products themselves are great, and the packaging is really nice as well. The formulations are all stunning. I love that it feels really luxurious and expensive, but the prices are actually fair. I’ll for sure be repurchasing what I do have, as well as trying out more.
