Black Friday Haul 2016

Hello friends!

True story: I have worked every single Black Friday since I was 19. So when my salon owners told me that I not only had Thanksgiving Day off, but the whole weekend as well, I was pretty dang excited. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not one to camp out at Best Buy or get up at the crack of dawn just to get a discount on something I don’t really need. I honestly don’t think there is anything in the world worth not sleeping (nap-time forever). But there I was, in the crowds, trying to fend off my social anxiety to get the goods. Some of these things I bought on actual Black Friday, and some I purchased on Saturday- ‘cuz it’s really Black Weekend now, isn’t it? If you’re interested to see what I snagged, just keep reading!

Sephora Collection Gnome for the Holidays Airbrush Sponge Set

Sephora Beauty Blender.JPG

I walked into Sephora knowing that they never do sales other than the VIB 20%, and I was right. However, my Real Techniques beauty sponge was literally dead, and wasn’t even blending out my foundation anymore so I definitely needed a new one. I’d never tried the Sephora brand sponges, so I decided to test them out. They’re normally $12 per sponge (at least the largest kind), and I got three for $18, so I got a bit of a bargain as well! I have to say, I do like the Real Techniques a little better. This one is good, but I feel like I have to use more product than usual with it. Especially if the sponge is damp, it seems to sheer out the product a bit more than I like, so I have to apply more. However, it does give a natural finish, they are soft, and the shape makes them comfortable to hold. They come in really cute packaging, which I promptly lost, but you can see here. It’d be a great stocking-stuffer for a beauty junkie.

Victoria’s Secret Sports Bralettes

Victoria's Secret Bralettes.JPG

I am a bit more-ahem-chesty than the average girl. As such, it is so flippin’ difficult to find bralettes that aren’t hideous and actually do something for me. That’s where Victoria’s Secret comes in, however, es esspensive. So, when I saw that they had 50% off of select* bralettes, I was hopping aboard that train. I paid about $22.50, give or take, for the both of them.  I love the lace detailing on the grey/black one, and it’s supportive without being constricting. I probably wouldn’t work out in this one, but it’s good for lazy days. My favorite is the one with the colorful straps. It gives so much support, it almost feels like a compression shirt, but way more comfortable. The straps are adjustable as well, which I love. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll wear a real bra ever again.

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics Bath Bombs in Sunnyside The Magic of Christmas
Lush Bath Bombs.JPG

Holy freaking glitter, there is glitter everywhere. It is so like me to pick the two most glittery obnoxious bath bombs ever, but what can I say? I honestly can’t decide which I like more. To be fair, Lush didn’t have any deals on, but…it’s Lush, so worth it. The Magic of Christmas is technically a bubble bar, which means it’s reusable and I am about that life. It smells exactly like Christmas, spicy and sweet, which a hint of orange and lots of cinnamon & clove. I am so excited to use this. Sunnyside on the other hand, is my literal dream. Who doesn’t want to bathe in gold & glitter, because I definitely do. It’s citrus-y scent will uplift your mood even after the worst of days. Just be careful about handling both of these because glitter is like having a child; it never goes away.

American Eagle Clothing Haul

I could have probably done a separate post for this, with try-ons and outfit ideas, but here we are (if you want me to do that, just let me know in the comments below!). I generally don’t go to American Eagle very much, because I think it’s over priced for what it is. However,  I do like their range, especially in recent years. For Black Friday, they did a store-wide discount of 40% off, so I was like…okay I’ll bite. The maroon tank top is so cute, and it’s lace detailing is really nice. If you know me, you know I am a raging feminist, so I obviously had to get the GIRL PWR shirt. It’s super baggy and slouchy and really soft. The grey “my cat is my SPIRIT ANIMAL” shirt, I mean c’mon, I had  to buy that. It didn’t have a price sticker and I said to Rohan, “I don’t care how much it costs, I’m buying it.”  It is incredibly soft, and has a hi-lo hemline, which is cool. Dat.flannel.doe. I really didn’t know what I was missing. It’s literally the softest thing I’ve ever felt in my life and I kind of want to cuddle it at all times of the day. Lesson here is: AE has the softest clothes of life and I approve. All together it was about $77, and I don’t regret a thing.

Converse All Stars Hi-Tops

Near my house there is an outlet mall, and in that outlet mall there is a Converse store, and in that Converse store there are the cutest shoes of your hopes and dreams. Granted, it can be annoying, because sometimes you really, really love a shoe, but they don’t have your size and it’s the last one left in the world, ever. However, when you score, you score big, and I won the Superbowl. I’m literally obsessed with these shoes. So much so, that I actually get sad when I have to take them off. They’re like classic Chucks, but fancy. The little gold & silver pegs really give them an extra flair, and they are so dang comfortable. The best part? They originally retailed for $65.oo, and the outlet prices was $39.97. But wait! Black Friday had Converse some type of way because they ran a 40% discount, which means I got the shoes for $25.66. Now that’s a happy Black Friday.

I did actually grab a few more things on Black Friday, but the rest are gifts. For obvious reasons I’m not going to share them here. What did you get on Black Friday? Did you find amazing deals? Let me know in the comments below! As always, thanks for reading & stay golden!
