Drugstore Makeup Haul!

Hey friends!

Lately there has been a lot of buzz about new makeup that the drugstore has come out with, and it’s absolutely been killing the scene. So last week I decided to take a trip and try some new things out. I wanted to share what I picked up and my thoughts on the products. I purchased everything at either Walgreens, Target or the drugstore section of Ulta. Some of them I’d never tried out, and some things I use regularly. Without further ado, let’s dive in!

First items I picked up were these two mascaras from Wet n’ Wild. Lately this brand has been really stepping up in terms of their selection and quality. And the best part is, they’re so cheap. I picked up the megavolume and megalength mascaras, and I’ve really been liking them. I usually will use the megavolume first, then layer the megalength on top. It gives a really nice, doll-like look without being clumpy or spidery. The only thing to watch out for is that the formula is really wet, so you have to be careful that you don’t get any on the eyelid. Other than that I’m really impressed with them!

Next up is the RUN BOY RUN palette from Makeup Revolution London. I found this in the drugstore section of Ulta, and I have to say I’m really impressed. It was only $10, and the quality is really great for the price. I received a different palette from this brand for Christmas and I really liked it, so I decided to pick this one up. The pigmentation and color payoff is really great, and if it’s anything like the other palette I have, the lasting wear is great too.  It has a mix of mattes and shimmers (shimmers on top, mattes are the circular ones on the bottom row), so you can really create a lot of looks with this. I’m excited to play with this one, because the colors are so pretty!

Another product I was really excited to try was this Contouring Palette from Wet n’ Wild. I’d originally heard about it from KathleenLights on YouTube, so I thought I’d try it out. I picked up the shade Dulce de Leche (there is also one called Caramel Toffee). If you are fair to medium toned, this would probably be the shade for you. I love the highlight shade. It does a nice job of brightening up the undereye area. Although the contour shade is not as warm as many drugstore contour colors, it is a little bit too warm for my liking. I’ve been using it as bronzer rather than contour, which is working really well. Overall, it’s definitely worth the money, it was only $4.99!! If you’re in the market for a high street contour palette, this is a great option.

OH MY GOD THESE LIQUID LIPSTICKS. Seriously, they are ah-mazing. NYX is a really popular brand, and I’m continually impressed with the quality of the products they put out. I’ve been dying to try the Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks, and I was not disappointed. I got these at Target, but they’re also available at Ulta. I picked up two colors, Sandstorm and Softspoken. Softspoken is a nuetral pink nude, while Sandstorm is more of a true brown nude. The color payoff is amazing, it’s super easy to apply, and the staying power is incredible. Seriously, wore this for hours, ate and drank and it was still there at the end of the day. I’m extremely impressed, I’m definitely going to pick up more!

These Real Techniques beauty blenders are a long-time love of mine. Honestly, I like them better their their much more expensive pink counterpart. They’re not completely egg-shaped, but have a flat side, which is really good for blending the under-eye area. It was about $10 for both of these, and I got them at Ulta. I love to blend out foundation and concealer with these, they give a really flawless look. I’ll probably be purchasing these for the rest of my life.

I picked up three nail polishes at Walgreens, two from Sinful Colors, and one from Wet n’ Wild. From right to left they’re called Vacation Time, Stay Classy, and Prosecco. Vacation time is a nude pink color, while Stay Classy is more of a mauvey nude. Prosecco is probably my favorite, it’s a taupe-grey with a gold shimmer. I’ve been wearing it for the last three days, which is probably a record for me. My hands are constantly in water, so my polish usually chips the day after applying it, so I’m really impressed with the staying power of this one!13.5

I grabbed two Matte Lipsticks from NYX. I’ve tried them before in different colors, and I really like them. They’re really pigmented and long-lasting, so they’re definitely keepers. I picked up Haze, which is a cool grey color, and Up The Bass which is a grey-violet color. They’re both kind of funky shades but actually pretty wearable. I like that they’re really matte, but not drying, so they’re very comfortable to wear all day. I highly, highly recommend them, no matter what color you choose!

While I was out I picked up three brushes, two from Wet n Wild, and one from ELF. Wet n Wild just launched a brush line, but these were the only two that I could find. Seriously I searched two different Walgreens and a Target to get my hands on these. I have to say that I’m really impressed. They’re soooo soft, and I love the pink detailing on them. I already have a love for ELF brushes, especially the Studio line. They’re super soft and really good quality. If you’re looking for inexpensive brushes check these out!

Oh god, I’m such a sucker for setting sprays. I’m a die-hard fan of the Urban Decay Deslick setting spray, but I thought I’d try a high street option. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t love or hate this one, it was simply meh. I didn’t think it made my makeup stay on significantly longer, and it kind of got everywhere and left a film. I probably wouldn’t repurchase this, but in a pinch it would work.

Ok guys, that’s it for my drugstore haul! Thanks for reading, and let me know if you’ve tried any of these products, or if there is anything else I should try. Stay beautiful!
